Educational journeys focusing on mediterranean cultures brought her to France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Israel, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco as well as to Canada, USA, Mexico, Russia and China.
Inge Deringer lives and works in Binningen near Basel. She is member of "visarte" and "keramik region basel".
Thougts about my work:
Ceramic offers me the opportunity to give form to an idea und to visualize this idea three-dimensionally. The amorphous material of clay fascinates me as well as the potentiality to give it form to mediate a message.
Stimulations to my work I find often in nature, in the landscape, in foreign countries and in antiquity. Prehistoric and actual occurences leave their traces. Hieroglyphics and buildings of ancient cultures inspirate me to find new technics and forms of expression. Out of a glimpse can arise something new.
